Current One World Projects

Rock Band, Columbia Heights Educational Campus, Washington D.C.

When COVID ended it was tough for DC Public Schools teachers to get kids to want to come back into classrooms, but one teacher's guitars made a big difference. Kids started coming in early to play with the guitars. This quickly grew into a music room that was available for kids before and after school. Kids starting learning and then teaching each other guitar, and then added a keyboard, drums and other instruments to the room.

True Blue Children’s Book, DeKalb Central United School District, Waterloo, Indiana

Kyla (senior) and Lydia (junior) started their business to educate students about type 1 diabetes. The girls noticed Kyla's little sister was being bullied for pricking her finger in class because other students lacked knowledge. One World helped them print their children's book on type 1 diabetes. They are continuing to do class educational presentations and sell merchandise in Indiana Public schools.

Ron Brown Horticulture Project, Ron Brown CP Highschool, Washington D.C.

Ron Brown DC Public School has a thriving farm and garden with chickens, turkeys, and 2 goats (one named Lebron)! The students compost animal waste and use it in the garden, then they cook with the fruits and vegetables in class and provide lessons on healthy eating to the community.
